Knee pain
Knee pain
Knee pain can occur for a multitude of reasons but broadly speaking they fit into 2 categories. The first could be called structural, a sprained ligament, a tendon strain or a torn meniscus. The second, and much more common, would be biomechanical.
Legs endure a lot of force particularly around the knee. This repeated loading can cause pain. Often people think that the best way to stop this is with orthotics. The problem with this is that as the orthotics support the leg the muscles take on a passive role and progressively get weaker. The body has a clever system of muscles which stabilise the leg.
